Program Curriculum

Architecture Pre-Major Requirements (Year 1 and 2)

Complete the General Education Program (GEP) through one of the following methods:

  • Earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public institution; OR
  • Receive a “General Education Requirements Met” endorsement from a Florida public institution; OR
  • Complete classes required to satisfy the General Education Program as administered by UCF, as well as successful completion of the Gordon Rule requirement.
  • GEP Courses:
    • ENC 1101 (3 credits) and ENC 1102 (3 credits)
    • MAC 1140 or MAC 11114 (3 credits)
    • GEP Mathematical Foundations (3 hours)
    • GEP Communication Foundation (3 credits)
    • GEP Cultural & Historical Foundations 1 of 3 (3 credits)
    • GEP Cultural & Historical Foundations 2 of 3 (3 credits)
    • GEP Cultural & Historical Foundations 3 of 3 (3 credits)
    • GEP Social Foundations 1 of 2 (3 credits)
    • GEP Social Foundations 2 of 2 (3 credits)
    • GEP Science Foundations (3 credits)
    • PHY 2053C or Physics I (3 credits)

Architecture Pre-Requisites:

Complete the following Pre-Requisites:

  • ARC 1201 Theory of Architecture (also offered as ARC 2201 at some institutions) (3 credits)
  • ARC 1701 Architectural History I (also offered as ARC 2701 at some institutions) (3 credits)
  • ARC 2702 Architectural History II (also offered as 1702 at some institutions) (3 credits)
  • ARC 1301 Architectural Design I (4 credits)
  • ARC 1302 Architectural Design II (4 credits)
  • ARC 2180 Introduction to Digital Architecture (3 credits)
  • ARC 2303 Architectural Design III (5 credits)
  • ARC 2304 Architectural Design IV (5 credits)
  • ARC 2461 Materials and Methods of Construction (also offered as ARC 1461 at some institutions) (4 credits)

Record of these pre-requisites and their completion must be received on official transcripts by UCF, directly from your previous institution(s).
